The Pieta
The Single most important artistic expression of the Christian faith is the masterful 16thcentury sculpture of the Pieta by Michelangelo. This representation of Mary seated at the foot of the cross and holding the inert body of our crucified Lord captures the fullness of the Christian belief in the Incarnation.
